Living just 10 minutes from the beach has probably changed the way I think about getting dressed.
The beach isn't always a big event. Sometimes it's a quick afternoon, a walk before dinner, or an unplanned stop because the weather is too beautiful to stay home.
And I've learned that the best outfits for those days are usually the easiest ones.
That's one of the reasons I started DASSA.
I wanted to create a women's boutique inspired by the way I actually live—near the coast, in warm weather, where an ordinary day can easily turn into a beach day or an evening out.
Packing for a Beach Vacation
I used to think packing for vacation meant bringing an outfit for every possible situation.
Beach outfit.
Lunch outfit.
Dinner outfit.
Something for going out.
Something “just in case.”
And somehow the suitcase would still be full.
Now I think differently.
When you're packing for a beach vacation, I think the best pieces are the ones you can wear more than once and style in different ways.
A simple button-up can be a lightweight layer during the day, a beach cover-up, or part of your evening outfit.
A flowy skirt can work with sandals for a casual afternoon and look completely different with accessories for dinner.
And then there should always be one piece that makes you feel a little special.
That's where a dress like the Basima Dress Sequin comes in.
I Like My Vacation Clothes to Feel Like Vacation
Maybe that sounds obvious, but I think it's easy to forget.
If I'm somewhere warm, I don't want to spend an hour getting dressed.
I want something comfortable.
Something that moves.
Something that works with sandals and doesn't need to be perfectly styled.
That's what I love about coastal fashion.
It can be feminine without being fussy.
Relaxed without looking careless.
And simple without being boring.
What I'd Actually Pack
If I were packing for a weekend by the coast, I'd start with a few pieces that can work together.
A versatile button-up.
Something flowy, like the Flowy Midi Skirt.
A dress that makes me feel good when I put it on.
A few simple accessories.
Comfortable sandals.
That's really it.
The goal isn't to bring your entire closet.
It's to bring pieces that can keep up with the plans you haven't made yet.
Because that's my favorite thing about being near the beach.
You never really know where the day is going to take you.
And I want your clothes to be ready for it.
Dress easy. Live fully. Chase the sun.
